100%, before this reworks it was tough. Allies AI just died against Bret, while you try and deal with what you can while slowly getting surrounded.
After, though. A jabber with couple gorgon, sheeet, those shiny horses boys didnt stand a chance.
Before, beastmen were pretty difficult to get traction built up. No income other than that 2500, but units still needing upkeep hindered a LOT. They were a weaker version of playing as Chaos right now, and had a harder time getting income.
Doable, but still tough enough to stomp out the Empire, especially if the Vamps died early.
Didnt help that the only anti-large units they had were... Not great. Ungor spears and greataxe minotuars(I think). So Bret-bois would trample your army, monsters or not.
I played the beastmen a bit pre rework and thought it was super hard due to the whole empire just recapturing the settlements I never thought about upkeep issues because I disliked anything that wasn't cygors and minotaurs, so I could easily win fights and go from settlement to settlement.
Mmmmhmmmmmm. The bloodgrounds for ruin denial was possibly the best part of the update. Otherwise you have to hunt down every army, just so they cant have snuck around and colonized something you burned on turn 10.
The achievement rate for the regular beastmen victory was like 1.5% before the rework. The achievement for doing it on very hard or legendary was like 0.6%.
As someone who painstakingly beat the beastmen campaign on vh/vh prior to the rework I can confirm that this battle used to be hell. Don’t get me started on simultaneously stomping out the brettonian and empire confederating machines
I tend to have the empire wiped out by my vanguard deployed minotaurs around the time it takes for my gorgons/jabberslythes to reach the brettonians. The big boys and allies can easily mop up the brets and then I just send minotaurs running after the empire reinforcements until army losses kick in.
Yeah… I was playing on normal battle difficulty and took no casualties. I was playing as Taurox and had 5 doombulls with Unsated Bloodthirst (or whatever it’s called, the one that gives minotaurs +10% weapon damage), 10 Minotaurs with great weapons and 4 jabberslythes. Literally face rolled through the battle

I had never beat a beastmen campaign before now and so I was wondering if its always been easy or if it was the rework that made it easy.

I agree so I think weather it be somthing like nakai or beatmen the WOC need ruin denial.

Defeense of the oak is EASY aswell
Build your army right and you can AFK Defence of the Oak.
Exactly
